Pin Parvati Pass Trek-2018

This is one of the most spectacular pass  in the region nestled at an altitude of 17,380 feet above sea level, in Himachal Pradesh, forms the gateway to the Spiti Valley from the Kullu Valley. The amazing trek tour begins via crossing over the flourishing green Parvati valley and beautiful Landscapes, lush green meadows, stately forests in Kullu which falls in the range of Great Himalaya into the Spiti valley. The best season to pin valley trek is in the month of July to September. This is one such trail which offers you a complete package of thrills and adventure.

Itinerary

Participants should report at Manikaran by end of day. Cabs to Manikaran are available from Bhuntar. Dinner and overnight stay is arranged in suitable tents at Manikaran.
Participants start trek towards Kheerganga. Participants are also briefed on basic safety and regulations one must follow along the trek on this day. The day meets an interval with a delightful lunch at Barsheni. Hereafter the day follows with a steep climb to Kheerganga. Khirganga has a beautiful hot spring where Lord Shiva is said to have meditated. Participants get to relax at Kheerganga (9908 ft). Overnight stay is arranged in suitable tents. Participants are advised to sleep early to compensate for the next day's early start. (5 hours)
Participants will take an early start from Kheerganga and will head towards Tunda Bhoj. The day's trail is mostly through thick forests & flower-strewn meadows, except for some a mild ascent where it’s pretty much flat. Participants get ample time to click photos on this day. Lastly participants encounter a steep rise that is followed by a short walk through a meadow with an enchanting view of a couple of huge foamy waterfalls on the opposite side of the river. The group camps here for the day(10770 ft). Dinner & overnight stay is arranged in suitable tents. (5 hours)
After having breakfast and packed lunch we will continue our journey and Thakur Kuan will be our another pit stop for the day. Thakur Kuan is a large pasture besides river Parvati. This will be the campsite (11870 ft) for the day. Overnight stay is arranged in suitable tents. (4 hours)
Participants wake up to the most adventurous day of the trek. It’s a day of steep climb to reach the high altitude meadow of Odi Thach. Along the way, participants get to cross the two most spectacular bridges of the trail. One is the Pandu Pul-1, which is made of a single boulder on the river Parvati and the other is Pandu pul-2, which is also a 20 feet long monolith. The group camps at Odi Thach for the night. (6 hours)
The trek up to Mantalai lake is a gradual climb. Its an enjoyable day with a pretty straight forward trek unlike the previous day. Entire trail is a walk alongside river Parvati. Once at the lake, you can see the Mantalai Glacier, which is the source of the river Parvati. The group camps near Mantalai Lake for the night. (9 hours)
Participants ascend to the base camp of Mount Parvati which also serves as the base of the pass. Its a challenging day for most of the trekkers. At least the first half of the trail is muddy and rocky throughout. The second half is comparatively easier with gradual ascent till the campsite. The campsite for the day is at the edge of the glacier. Trekkers camp at the base of Pin Parvati Pass and relax for the night. (7 hours)
A steep climb takes you to Pin Pass. At the top of a large snow filled, crevassed hollow leads to the broad rocky saddle of the pass. At the top, one can see a splendid view of the snowy mountains of Hampta region on one side and the Pin valley of Spiti on the other. Trekkers camp over Pin Pass for the night and enjoy a tasty dinner to cherish their accomplishment. (8 hours)
Trek along the Pin river in to the Pin Valley National park. Look out for the elusive snow leopards, musk deer and ibex. Today's campsite is Tiai where the participants will pitch tents and rest for the night. (5 hours)
Trek through the barren, stark landscape of Spiti to Mud, a pretty village perched on a hillside. We will camp here for the night and in the morning government bus service to Kaza. Overnight camp is set up at Mud campsite in tents. (5 hours)
After few farewell speeches and gossips, participants have breakfast and say cheese for a quick photo shoot, arrangements are made for the checkout.

Things to make a note of

Even though minimum age limit to register for the program is 12 years, children less than 18 years of age are accepted for the treks only with a parent's/guardian's undertaking. ID Proof, YATA-India booking receipt, original medical certificate stating your fitness & two passports sized photographs are a must to enter the Base Camp. Without these documents, participants will not be allowed to proceed further at the Base Camp.
