Goechala trek-2018

Goechala is a famous spot and is easy to moderate trek as well. This is also a well-known trek from where you can glitter your eyes with the spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586 me), which is the third highest peak in the world National Park. This park was inscribed to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list on July 17, 2016 In this trek you can find the scenic beauty of many more other peaks of India. This trek got started from a little town called Yuksom. Yuksom is a historical town in Geyzing subdivision of West Sikkim district in the Northeast Indian state of Sikkim.

Itinerary

Our base camp is in Yuksom, a destination in Geyzing (west Sikkim District) known for its beauty. Fresh cool breeze kisses your senses at the first sight of Yuksom, located in a peaceful, cozy surrounding covered by high hills and lush green forest. This is Located at the head of the Khangchendzonga National Park, it is the gateway to Mt. Khangchendzonga. It is also the starting point of Dzongri, Which is the base camp of Himalayan Mountaineering Institute for treks to Mt. Khangchendzonga.
Move for the first higher camp starts followed by the breakfast. Single trail can only be found after crossing the dense wooden huts. Sachen, a first camp site surrounded by deep dark forest comes into sight after 4-5 hours of movement.
Movement gains (2405) ft. altitude after 3-4 hrs followed by a breakfast early in the morning. A long waited beautiful sight of Bakhim becomes visible after completing half way of the trek; from here you can see a very beautiful view of Yuksom town. In the evening, reach at the Camp site and stay overnight.
This part is quite steep to escalate. Majority of trails are covered with wooden logs; being the most beautiful attraction of this trek. A small lake is witnessed at the end of this route. Dzongri top is around 2 km from the Dzongri camp; here you can find the mystical and beautiful view of Kanchonzonga range. Some of the people trek till here only for this amazing view.
Trek starts with a little ascend after that steep way till Kokchurang. It will be the lunch point between Dzongri to Thansing. From here around 600 ft. ascending starts following the simple trails.Midway in these trails comes a small river. It takes 4-5 hrs to reach our camp.
A Rest day! Very simple and flat trail leads to Lamuney. From here Pandim peak is visible, at the right side a little river crossing is seen. After reaching at Lamuney, you can spend your Valuable time.
After breakfast trek starts towards Goechala. God’s amazing creation Samiti Lake is seen at the lap of Mt. Kanchanzonga and Pandim. After a short ascending you can reach at the first view point of sun rise. A flat surface movement leads to Goechala. It takes 8-9 hrs to reach there.
Routes are similartill Kokchurang. From here trek diverts towards Tshoka via Phedang. It takes around 4-6 hrs to reach there.
Last night! Certificate ceremony will be conducted in which certificates will be distributed to those participants who have successfully passed the Goechala trek. Overnight, stay at the base camp.

ID Proof, YATA-India booking receipt, original medical certificate stating your fitness & two passports sized photographs are a must to enter the Base Camp. Without these documents, participants will not be allowed to proceed further at the Base Camp.
